Path of Exile Item Upgrades

The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading the performance of them. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.
Rare-grade equipment can be superior to modernized Common or Magic gear due to their high demands.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They boost the effectiveness of the item they are connected to. upgrade item are available in the world of games and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at bonfires. They can also be salvaged using a specialist or higher salvage kit to salvage upgrade components from other items.
The amount of damage an armored piece or weapon will absorb is contingent on the level of its upgrades. The damage absorption of an item of armor will increase when it's upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, so it should be heavier.
There are a variety of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. For instance, certain upgrades will grant the armor a certain number of health points while others will make it lighter and stronger. The name of the upgrade will indicate the kind of upgrade an item can receive, as shown below.
Certain upgrades require magic or a combination of technology and magic, as identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Some upgrades also require a charge to use, which is shown by the "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges associated with these upgrades change every day or never expire, depending on the upgrade.
The cheapest method to upgrade armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be gathered through exploring the surroundings and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more expensive, but is readily available in the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can give significant boost to stats and are a worthwhile investment, particularly for one-handed weapons.
The player must be aware that upgrading a piece to the maximum upgrade level will increase its defense values. However, it can also reduce its agility and speed. For this reason, it is typically not recommended to upgrade armor pieces beyond +9, since the added defense is typically not worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades needed.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Certain weapons also come with enhancements that enhance their intrinsic characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, reduces the risk of the possibility of overheating) and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's acceleration for greater damage) are two examples.
The majority of upgrades for weapons require a whetblade. It's one of three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by completing side quests or killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.
Upgrading a Weapon, Equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade price of a certain number of Bars. The more bars you need to complete an upgrade the higher the level. The cost of upgrades will be less if you have more than one of the upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a certain number of Bars. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would reset.
You can still do this, but the process is high on RNG and low on agency. You should consider buying equipment with minimal upgrade levels but with high base scores and stat distributions. These will be able to give you the best tier of perks and blessings.
Most players will want to prioritize weapon upgrades for the weapons they use most frequently to make sure they are able to level up quicker. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their teammates utilize to increase their power. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will increase its utility when accompanied by experts in biotics like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to boost the stats of a character or to provide additional effects on weapons and armor. They can be created using the process of jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gem with a number of specific chemicals at a table. The higher the grade of the gemstone, the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or through collecting Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.
upgrade item of a diamond can be improved at the Jeweler, with stages that vary from Crude to Royal. The stat boosts will vary according to the tier that the jewel is at when it's slotted into jewelry, weapons, or other gear.
The Jeweler is able to create all kinds of gems, apart from the rare and legendary ones that you must attain a certain level to get. Unlike other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped out with a identical jewel without destroying it. You can only replace the jewel only once in a piece of equipment.
It is typical to use more jewels for aesthetic reasons. Apart from improving performance, the jewels also create a surface that is harder than steel, so the repeated friction from pivots doesn't cause harm as easily.
In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades players can also obtain glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These provide a small bonus and can be swapped out at any time however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded by the Jeweler to exchange Scattered Crystals and gold. item upgrader can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits and aegis, aren't swappable and can only be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor or salvaging them using Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are a great way to give your character a variety of small, but valuable advantages. They can be acquired starting in the starter areas as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and by performing road interactions. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinket that a player will be able to unlock is the cloak. It provides a tiny, but useful bonus in speed of movement and the ability to evade. The player will then be able to acquire necklaces, rings, and amulets, in a similar way similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Every piece of equipment has an upgrade slot that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be used on any device. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced and only work with certain trinkets.
These trinkets can also grant buffs and skills that remain active even when the character is not fighting. This allows a hero to be more efficient when they are not active. It can also compensate for the absence of strong team or talent tree slots which are usually filled by a hero's top stats.
A good general rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you will not replace soon, followed by any items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item that is being upgraded. This is especially true if an item has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade as it's usually more beneficial to upgrade one crucial stat than two subpar ones.
In the beginning of the game players who are in the jungle will typically want to upgrade their trinket to a red, while top and mid players typically choose a green or pink ward (depending on the game's matchup). These choices can affect a hero's ability to control the map.
In addition to the items listed above, players can also find other trinkets in the form of trophies and rewards throughout the game. They can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story. For example, completing a chapter’s main quest or beating an opponent. These can be viewed by selecting the appropriate achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
