Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The best way to upgrade your equipment in Path of Exile is through upgrading your items. This allows you to enhance your gear without having to rely on expensive drops or trades. This article will show you how to upgrade your gear.
Upgrades to equipment provide an increase in the item's stats. This bonus scales based on the rarity and strength of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components are the things that make your weapons and armor better. You can get them from destroying enemies, finding them in spheres of items or buying them from karma merchants. You can also salvage them from equipment that has the components, or by utilizing high-end salvage kits like Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed when you remove them from an item.
The main purpose of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded however, they also serve other functions. They can be stacked in order to boost the level or experience gained from upgrading existing weapons or gear. They can be made for additional bonuses. A crafted glyph can increase the chance of upgrading its target while boost upgrades increase the attack or defense capabilities of a weapon.
You can attach an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will show the upgrade components that the item can be updated. Alternately, you can make use of the workbench to choose an upgrade template. In either instance the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components are gathered.
Each component has its own experience multiplier that affects how much more experience an item will gain when it upgrades with the component. Organic components, like have more experience multipliers than mechanical components. It is recommended to upgrade organic components first until you reach the next level in the weapon or equipment, and then move on to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the experience multiplier Each item also comes with a maximum number of upgrades it can receive. The number of upgrades is determined by the upgradeable rank and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. For example, the highest possible weapon upgrade is a weapon of tier 10. The most popular weapon upgrade is a tier 6 gun and a armor upgrade for tier 5.
Sets

A set is a group of items that have a bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once, and the upgrade increases the guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade an item or set piece is that it will be given a +1 increase to its primary stat. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be boosted even further (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its additional stats increases randomly.
Upgrades can also increase the base damage of a weapon. This can be crucial for certain types of builds. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to a higher maximum defense roll than their base. It is a good way to improve the value of some set and unique items, however it's important to note that they're not necessarily better than a high-level runeword in any build.
If an item you're upgrading has a guaranteed bonus that is guaranteed, it can be rerolled only once and its guarantee will reset to 0. Rerolling is the same amount of power dice as bringing an item up, but the new item will offer various bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll need a power die of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the right amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector and can be purchased with Gold. The NPC will also offer an extra reward for each tier of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled one time using the same materials as the original item.
Rerolling
If players have enough to reroll tokens, they are able to play rerolling any item they've accumulated during the game. When an upgraded item is being rerolled, it can be exchanged for an equivalent level 1 version of the same item in another set. Reroll tokens are available in the shop for a small amount of in-game currency. They are not refundable. The new item will have the same bonus features as the previous one, but the stats will differ.
Players can change the identity of equipment in addition to rerolling it by interacting with a NPC upgrader. This will change the identification from an armor to a weapon or vice versa, all the while keeping its basic stats and attributes that are required. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who own the gear in question.
Players can also increase the level of their item on any equipped equipment by obtaining upgrade items and conversing with the NPC who upgrades the item. The cost will vary depending on the upgrade track, the item type and the number of crests. Each step will give 5percent more damage to weapons.
An upgrade will make it more powerful, but it will reduce its effectiveness. Therefore, it is important to keep both in check. Some items may not be worth upgrading at all however, others will need to be upgraded to maximize their potential. For instance, a player might wish to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to see what it can be.
The primary reason people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game, is that they're trying to obtain a particular weapon or character that they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire. These items can be time-consuming and expensive to obtain and the RNG does not always work in a positive way. The only options left are to spend real cash or grind for a long time. This is why rerolling is a very popular choice in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
When upgrading an item, you can choose to level up the weapon or armor. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I believe it was intended to be a way to give some value to rare items, but as the majority of gear drops quickly and can only be upgraded one level up and you'll typically replace the item before it gets old enough. It's also not worthwhile to upgrade item s with gem sockets since the value of the gem will be greater than the higher ilvl that comes with the upgrade.
When you click the upgrade button on an item, you'll see a small window with the item's upgrade template and the crest and Valorstone costs to boost the level of the item. The cost will differ between the armor and weapons as well, with the former typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template lists the statistics that will be added to the upgraded item and will also list its current ilvl.
The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated according to the item's current ilvl as well as the upgrade template. The ilvl will also be reduced by the upgrade template's lvl reduction percentage. For instance the weapon that has an upgrade decrease of 8% will decrease its count by 8-8%.
The item will be upgraded to other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry, and dodge rating in addition to the base level. These increases are based on the upgrade template.
In the upgrade template you can check the amount of damage or defense that the item will receive when it is upgraded. This is shown below the cost as well as the upgrade percentages. All weapons and armor apart from practice equipment gain these stats upon leveling up. The value of these stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly perfectly rolled weapon or piece of armor is able to command higher trade values than non-upp'd versions. The same is true for other pieces of armor like circlets and Tiaras.
